Active Learning Assessment & Feedback
How do you get your students up and moving? If students are sitting for your entire class period, it’s time to shake things up! This workshop will give faculty the opportunity to experience active lecture and active discussion techniques as well as reviewing best practices on incorporating low stakes assessments to gauge student understanding. Faculty will also discuss current assignments and feedback practices in order to brainstorm ways to give more efficient and effective feedback to students without spending more time.
In this workshop, faculty conduct an assessment inventory of their assessment and feedback practices in order to identify how to best prepare students for end of course exams and assessments. Through active learning, peer-review and discussion, you will leave this workshop with a better understanding of how your assessments align with your objectives and prepare students for your final exams. You’ll also learn a few tips to give more meaningful feedback in less time!
