Description: This interactive workshop is designed to provide practical advice for preventing and minimizing disruptive behaviors, both in general and specific terms. Participants will gain knowledge about course and classroom design that supports learning, strategies to prevent disruptive behaviors, and ways to minimize behaviors when they occur. Presented by Michelle Pasko - clinical instructor in the Department of Special Education at Towson University. She holds a Master of Arts in Instructional Systems Development from UMBC. She recently earned an award for excellence in teaching. In addition to her role of teaching courses and supervising elementary education/special education interns, she serves as a mentor for colleagues involved in a course redesign initiative at TU. Michelle has provided professional development for TU faculty, local community colleges, Maryland State Department of Education, teachers in local school systems, and educators from China.
